Touchpoint Peer Support

Touchpoint Peer Support awarded funding for next five years

We’re thrilled to have secured partial funding to continue our vital Touchpoint Peer Support service for the next five years. This is a major step forward in providing reassurance and continuity for our customers and staff. As a result, we are thrilled to have reopened this service earlier this week.

What is Touchpoint Peer Support?

Our Touchpoint Peer Support service is for Disabled people in Barnet who are finding it hard to access the support or resources they need. Our service is Peer-led which means our Peer Support Workers also have lived experience of disability.

At Inclusion Barnet, we follow the Social Model of Disability. This means that our support service focuses on the social barriers that stop Disabled people from achieving their goals. Barriers are often different for different people and can include anything from a lack of wheelchair access or appropriate materials, to challenges with communication or confidence.

What this means for the Touchpoint Peer Support service

Since 2018, our Touchpoint Support Service has helped over 750 Disabled people in Barnet. We have helped them access education, social care, and local community support. With the new funding, we aim to support an additional 800 people over the next five years.

Thank you to our funders

We are incredibly grateful for the support from our funders. In June, The Henry Smith Charity awarded three years’ worth of funding and this month The National Lottery also confirmed to continue funding Touchpoint over the next five years, along with funding from Barnet Council.

Their investment in our Touchpoint Peer Support service shows the positive impact we have made and will continue to make for the lives of Disabled people in Barnet.
