James Little

Community Engagement Lead for Grange Big Local

James joined IB as part of the Grange Big Local staff team in 2024. He brings a decade of experience in Community Engagement in diverse environments: in the UK at ZSL London Zoo, and in South Asia for Operation Groundswell. He is passionate about how Engagement can empower communities of place, identity and interest, creating the best possible environments for individuals to flourish.

James identifies as an ally of the disability movement, and spent 4 years co-producing accessible services, training and other improvements at London Zoo through external and internal Engagements designed with the Social Model of Disability as their foundation.

“I’ve seen first-hand the positive, effective impact of developments that centre the lived-experience of disability, as well as how it can support people in understanding the potential of their role as an ally. I’m proud to be part of an organisation which has a vision and mission built around lived experience and the social model.”
