We are sad to announce that, due to a lack of funding, Inclusion Barnet has taken the difficult decision to close Space 2B. The weekly drop-in, run as part of Barnet Voice, has been open in locations in Mill Hill and Finchley for many years. Barnet Voice will continue to offer its weekly Virtual Peer Support Group on Tuesday afternoons. More information on the group and how to register to take part can be found here. Inclusion Barnet’s Touchpoint service will also continue to provide one-to-one emotional support via telephone and video call.
Caroline Collier, Inclusion Barnet CEO said:
“Deciding to shutter Space 2B has not been easy, especially during a time which has been so difficult for many of our attendees, but without adequate funding we are unable to keep the service running. Peer mental health support is a key aspect of Barnet Voice and Inclusion Barnet. We will continue to apply for funding and will look at ways in which we might be able to develop mental health group support that engages attendees and satisfies funding bodies.”
Inclusion Barnet plans on consulting with those directly impacted by the closure of Space 2B as well as subscribers to the Barnet Voice Newsletter, on the future of Barnet Voice activities and services. Those who are interested in contributing to these discussions should subscribe the Barnet Voice newsletter or contact Caroline Collier directly at firstname.lastname@example.org.
