Our Role as a Locally Trusted Organisation (LTO)

As a Disabled‑led charity based in Barnet, our main commitment is to local Disabled people. Alongside this, we were proud to take on an additional role as the Locally Trusted Organisation for the Grange Big Local programme. Funded by The National Lottery, via Local Trust, the programme put residents in the lead, supporting them to make decisions and create change in their own area.

This meant we acted as the accountable body, holding funds, ensuring compliance, and providing the infrastructure needed for the programme to run safely and effectively, while local residents led the decisions, ideas, and projects that mattered most to them.

Being selected as an LTO reflects the trust placed in us as an organisation, demonstrating strong governance, financial management, and deep roots within the community. It also highlights that Disabled-led organisations bring not only lived experience, but also leadership and professionalism.

Importantly, we were able to contribute a unique perspective. By sharing our expertise in accessibility and inclusion, we helped ensure that activities, communications, and outcomes considered the needs of Disabled people – for example, encouraging accessible formats and inclusive approaches that may otherwise have been overlooked.

While the community shaped the programme, we are proud to have supported its delivery and to have added lasting value through our involvement.
