Join the new Healthwatch...

Healthwatch Barnet is looking for people with energy, enthusiasm and a firm belief in the importance of user-led services to join the new Healthwatch Barnet Advisory Board.

Healthwatch Barnet’s primary aim is to improve the services offered to local people in the areas of health, access, and adult and children’s social care, and to ensure local voices are heard. As part of Deaf and Disabled People’s Organisation Inclusion Barnet, the power of lived experience is central to its work.

‘We are very excited to be building on the important work that’s been done at Healthwatch Barnet to date, while bringing new insights from the perspective of a Deaf and Disabled People’s Organisation’, says Caroline Collier, CEO of Inclusion Barnet. ‘If you want to play a leading part in shaping the future of a vital organisation, then we will be delighted to hear from you!’

Advisory board members should have a background in health or social care, though this is not essential to the role; more important, they should be able to demonstrate that they have the knowledge, experience, skills and abilities required in ensuring the board plays a key role in improving health and social care services in Barnet. Board members will be ambassadors for those using health and social care services and central to maintaining the independence of Healthwatch and its ability to hold the system to account on behalf of the public.
