Job Vacancy - Touchpoint Peer Worker

We are looking for a passionate individual with their own lived experience of disability, an understanding of the social model of disability, and a commitment to our wider aims to:

  • Work with people to help them lead more independent lives
  • Provide people with advice and information and proactively refer them to support services
  • Help people overcome and prevent crises
  • Liaise with other services to ensure that people’s outcomes are met
  • Use their own lived experience of disability or a long-term condition to tackle barriers to participation.
      • Fixed term 6 month contract (with the possibility this may be extended)

      • Salary: £27,750 pro rata, actual salary £22,200 per annum

      • Working hours: 28 hours per week

      • Location: Hybrid (Barnet, NW9 & home working, plus borough meetings)

Launched in October 2018, Inclusion Barnet’s Touchpoint service supports people experiencing any form of disability in Barnet to access the services and resources they need.

Touchpoint works with Barnet residents who: feel themselves to be disabled (because of a physical impairment, mental health issues, deafness, learning disabilities, and/or long-term conditions) and are finding it hard to access the support or resources they need to live the life they want to live.
