Community Organisation Support Members are part of a thriving network which aims to bring about positive and transformative social change for local communities in Barnet. This membership provides community groups with access to training and funding, as well as partnership opportunities and bespoke support for enhancing services.

Organisational Support

Our Membership Development Officers aim to help provide you with the following:

  • Support and guidance to help you raise funds and decide what
    fundraising strategy might work best for particular projects.
  • Support with researching specific funding opportunities.
  • Signpost to relevant information and resources to help develop projects.
  •  Access to peer member support to share learning and best practice.

 Governance support

  • Support and guidance to help you set up your organisation i.e. processes
    & procedures, legal duties, business planning and structure.

Funding support

  • Access to 1-to-1 funding support with our Membership Development
    Officers.
  • Help to develop and review you funding applications.
  • Access to fundraising training opportunities.
  • Access to Barnet Community Fund.

Increasing profile opportunities

  • Help to increase public awareness of your organisation and direct more
    people to your services.
  •  Access to opportunities to get your voice represented and be part of
    strategic conversations in the borough.

Newsletter

  • Access to Community Organisation Support Newsletter
    with relevant resources, information, and opportunities.

Collaboration and partnership opportunities

  • Opportunities to improve your services by sharing ideas and best
    practice with other members, local partners and like-minded people.
  • Opportunities to develop collaborative projects with your peers.
  • Signpost to resources, information, and people that can help enhance
    your impact on local communities.

Data Gathering

  • Support to create a better, more accurate picture of the local voluntary
    sector’s size and reach to improve services across Barnet.
  • Access to Monitoring and Evaluation Tools, i.e. Upshot CRM.

 Accessibility

  • Access to research and learning opportunities to make your services,
    information and activities as accessible as possible.
  • Support to understand the Social Model of Disability and any reasonable
    adjustments you may need to make to be an inclusive organisation.

Marketing and communication support

  • Support with the development of marketing and communication plans.
  • Ability to use the Barnet Together logo in your marketing material.
