Helen Phillips-Batman

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Helen Phillips-Batman. An Inclusion Barnet Trustee since our merger with Barnet Voice for Mental Health, Helen was tireless in her support of our work and in particular the Barnet Voice project Space 2B.
Elsie Lyons, Barnet Voice co-ordinator for many years said: “Helen had a great way with people – she was warm, friendly and engaging – especially towards those who were not feeling too good. She also wanted to help in other ways, like taking the minutes of the Annual General Meeting in 2015 to which she brought along her beloved granddaughter, Amina. When I’d finally decided to completely retire from Barnet Voice for Mental Health at the end of 2016 it was agreed I should run one final training programme for volunteers to the Space 2B and I had no hesitation in encouraging Helen to get involved. She contributed greatly to the course itself and I’m aware that she not only helped facilitate at the drop-ins but also went on to do the training to become a support group facilitator. The Helen I knew had a heart of gold and will be greatly missed by those who were on the receiving end of her big smile – her big hug – and her loving support.”
Our condolences go out to all of Helen’s family and friends at this time. >Helen Phillips-Batman
