Could you spare 26...

We are asking our supporters to become ‘Home Heroes’ by thinking of an activity based around the numbers 2.6 or 26 that suits their skills and completing it by Sunday 26th April, the day that the London Marathon would have raised millions of pounds for UK charities.

All of the money raised will go towards the Barnet Community Response Fund which in turn will be spent on running Barnet foodbanks, purchasing important items such as personal protective equipment to keep volunteers safe, as well as other vital local resources and services to help people in our borough at this time.

Our CEO, Caroline Collier says: “The 2.6 challenge is a flexible and fun way of raising money during lockdown. You could run 2.6 kilometres, complete 26 star jumps or do a workout in 26 minutes. Get your family and friends to sponsor you and you’ll have the satisfaction of knowing that every penny you raise helps a worthy cause here in Barnet.”

What will your challenge be?

If you would like to be a ‘Home Hero’ for your local community you can set up your own fundraising page to support our Barnet Together partnership (Volunteering Barnet, the Young Barnet Foundation and Inclusion Barnet) at:  https://twopointsixchallenge.justgiving.com/get-involved?charityId=2924658.

The 2.6 challenge is a national initiative so please follow Government guidelines on exercising and social distancing. For more information and ideas for challenges: https://www.twopointsixchallenge.co.uk/
