Are you a disabled person who struggles to navigate roads and pavements due to street furniture, a-frames or cafe tables? The council Licensing Team, who are responsible for street licensing and enforcing street trading in the borough would like to hear about how it impacts you.

Burnt Oak experiment of Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ)

Starting April 8th, 2024, there will be a trial parking zone in Burnt Oak Central called the BOC CPZ. This zone will last up to a year and a half. The council is asking for feedback during the first six months to see if adjustments are needed.

Street Trading Policy consultation 2024

Barnet Council need your views on the street trading policies for Barnet. Examples of street trading include market stalls, shopfront displays and on-street seating for cafés.

Barnet Team seek diverse voices for sustainable travel

The Barnet Active Transport Team is looking for volunteers, to join their discussions on sustainable transport in the borough. It’s crucial that disabled people’s voices are included, so email Paul Salman to find out more or get involved: pauls@goodgym.org.

Petition: for a social energy tariff

DR UK have created a petition for a social energy tariff. A tariff based on household income and consumption could lift many out of fuel poverty, including disabled and vulnerable people.

Improve: accessibility at sports venues

Help ‘promote good access for all fans’ at sports venues across England and Wales. Become a member of Level Playing Field and give feedback on sports grounds you visit.

The User Voice Project is an exciting opportunity for disabled people in Barnet to be more involved with decisions which affect their lives. The project is led by disabled people, for disabled people.

We want to create a Barnet that does not just listen to disabled people but takes action to ensure that services become more inclusive and accessible.
